Schedule: M-TH: 6:15-3:00, F: 6:15-1:45

Job Description

Terrapin is looking for a Packaging Supervisor to join our growing company. As a Clinton County, Penn.-based cannabis company, Terrapin is a pioneer in the emerging industry. Terrapin is a cultivator and processor of high-quality medical and recreational cannabis products with plans to open a retail footprint in Pennsylvania. With over 15 years of industry experience, Terrapin was licensed to operate in the Pennsylvania marketplace in 2017, growing to more than 180 employees.

 

The Packaging Supervisor oversees the team and helps to prepare products, which will sell in stores and help represent the mission and goals of Terrapin through attention to detail and care for quality products. They also oversee the lockup and help to prepare products for shipment, which will sell in stores and help represent the mission and goals of Terrapin through attention to detail and care for quality products. They are responsible for packaging all lab products with speed, quality and accuracy while adhering to Terrapin standards for packaging. Packaging/Shipping Supervisors are an important part of the seed-to-sale chain of production and act as the bridge from lab to store, ensuring delivery of the best customer experience Terrapin can provide.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assigning the crew: Assigning which crew member will be assigned to which task on the assembly line for lab products. Also ensuring that all end of day duties are fulfilled and all product is secured before leaving the facility.
  • Automation Upkeep - Should thoroughly understand operation and routine maintenance of all machines used to process product.
  • Product allocation: After receiving what was completed by the lab, it is the supervisor's responsibility to meet with the Finish Goods Manager to determine which products are priority and to delegate duties to ensure that any product that needs to be done is ready to ship.
  • Maintain Inventory: Should be able maintain accurate counts of prepared product, as well as back-stock and inventory to be moved to retail locations. Must assist Shipping Manager in maintaining inventory of packaging supplies and equipment.
  • Make sure the lab packagers have enough supplies to complete the day's tasks - boxes, Packaging, etc. - Plan ahead
  • Proper Recordkeeping: Make sure all products are entered into the proper sheets and are recorded daily.
  • Key Holder: Responsible for locking and unlocking the cages for storing production.
  • MJ Freeway Literacy: Should be able to update packages in MJ Freeway.
  • Computer Literacy: Should be able to use a windows operating system including Microsoft Office, the POS system, and inventory software. Should have a knowledge of web-based menus and applications
  • Product Knowledge: Should possess a willingness to learn all products produced in the lab and quality issues that may happen with every product.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Must be aware of all laws surrounding compliance in packaging.
  • Testing: Should keep track of what products will need to be pulled for stability testing. When Testing Lab comes the Lab Packaging Supervisor will pull the correct products for the lab if needed.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Current State Mandated Badge or Background Check.
  • A strong competency working with digital spreadsheets (Excel, Google sheets)
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours a day
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast moving, highly regulated environment with deadlines
