Job Description
Terrapin is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing company. As a Clinton County, Penn.-based cannabis company, Terrapin is a pioneer in the emerging industry. Terrapin is a cultivator and processor of high-quality medical products with a local retail footprint in Pennsylvania. With over 15 years of industry experience, Terrapin was licensed to operate in the Pennsylvania marketplace in 2017, growing to more than 200 employees.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process AP in SAP accounting software for Terrapin Investment Fund 1(TIF1).
- Entering all AP onto Smartsheet for approval.
- Maintain organized electronic vendor files and back up documentation.
- Create new vendors when needed and assure W-9 forms are received from vendors saving on the shared accounting drive.
- Perform daily reconciliations of all bank accounts for TIF1.
- Research outstanding PO's and Goods Receipts monthly.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of credit card account.
- Respond to inquiries from vendors and accounting staff regarding payment status and account information.
- Respond to inquiries from customers and accounting staff regarding payment status and account information.
- Issue Credit memos to Customers
- Prepare and issue bi-weekly customer statements, respond to customers Inquiries.
- Wholesale invoicing and entering customer payments.
- Assist controller with period end closing.
- Assist inventory team with inventory analysis and reporting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2-5 years of combined experience in bookkeeping, collections, and AP functions.
- Experience working with multiple related entities or subsidiaries. Experience with cost accounting is a plus.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP). Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment with deadlines.
- High attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills.
